howdy y'all!

my name is nickolette kong and I am an actress and scientist born and raised in houston, tx. i am a first-gen mexican-chinese american and a disabled person who deals with chronic illness.my acting journey began in 2013 with my introduction to high school theatre, where i competed in UIL OAP and acquired an arsenal of acting techniques that i still employ today! later on i graduated from the university of st. thomas with a bachelor's in biochemistry and a minor in physics. that's not to say that i didn't continue my love of acting! i took so many classes in theatre, music, movement - if i didn't have so many labs, i would have gotten a degree in drama too! it was here where i gained a lot of expertise, but also introspection into my craft.my philosophy of performing arts was finally realized - that there is reality in the imaginary. this is what people are drawn to, what people connect with. and this is something that i love to bring to life.at the inception of 2020, i decided to branch beyond the confines of the stage and started my voice acting career. i can say that God is good because once i started this new path, my life became so much more fulfilled. life felt so much more intentional. i finally felt more complete.while i keep at my acting career, my scientific career doesn't stop! the synthesis of science and art satiate my curiosity of the human person. i am currently pursuing another degree in medical laboratory sciences and recently had my first publication in the journal of Biochemistry and Biophysics Reports!
